Specialty Construction and Implementation
Integrity to life cycle cost savings is a matter of knowledge, care, and understanding. We provide all of these in the development and implementation of energy and infrastructure projects. 聽As a specialty implementer focusing on the design/build solutions that emerge from our technical and professional advisory services, we ensure a level of quality, integrity, and performance is infused in our process for optimized value 聽through not only construction but the lifetime of operations.
Our installations team offers strategic project delivery solutions customized to meet the requirements of your project – from traditional systems to highly complex and integrated systems of energy consuming and supplying infrastructure – optimized for long-term life cycle operations.
Retrofits and Optimization
Our team provides comprehensive energy analyses from a systems perspective, makes recommendations and helps you implement them to reduce energy spend, improve sustainability and gain energy resiliency. We can work on an individual system, a whole building or across a national footprint of facilities. We evaluate HVAC, building controls, lighting, your process equipment鈥攚hatever is consuming energy鈥攁nd prioritize them, based on useful-life evaluation, payback and return on investment.
As is common with the projects we have developed, we have found that maintaining project integrity throughout the development and implementation phase is vital in having favorable results. We know the design review, installation, turnover, and ongoing operation of the system have considerable impacts on the economic viability of the project, as such we craft a unique Owner鈥檚 Representative Services strategy to assist in the due-diligence, contracting, installation and oversight to meet the requirements of your project so you can rest assured that the systems will result in the economic performance expected of the investment. Edison Energy has performed owner's representative services in all domains of the energy industry, including: traditional energy conservation measures, large-scale wind and solar initiatives, and large-scale power plant solutions.
We deliver full-service construction oversight and management services from new construction, retrofits and renovation for existing buildings to energy efficiency, renewables, and power plant modifications. Our areas of project management expertise involve a total turnkey construction management approach: scheduling, administrative management, financial control, quality control, commissioning of the project and training. From issuing RFPs, conducting interviews and developing contracts, we conduct pre-construction meetings, maintain focus on long-lead priorities and set milestones for design and construction phases. We provide daily oversight on construction and budget, complete all punch lists and administer ongoing quality-control procedures. From the shop drawing stage to completion of the punchlist, Edison maintains control of all project documentation, meeting minutes, status reports, correspondence and as-built drawings.
Edison's turnkey project platform provides the knowledge, service, and commitment to long-term performance to ensure your energy programs have long term, verifiable success. Whether it鈥檚 a solar or combined heat and power (CHP) project to reduce your carbon footprint or more traditional improvements such as HVAC, controls, or lighting, we base our approach on customized technical assessments and energy studies, encompassing every major energy technology and Energy Conservation Measure (ECM) installation type. Providing lump sum or open-book pricing, we align behind the goals and objectives of our clients, taking ownership of all the aspects of project design, development, implementation, commissioning, and turnover.
Acting as your funds disbursement administrator, Edison鈥檚 services encompass all of the activities necessary to manage the pay application and disbursement process of your project (s). As a critical component of the construction process, having Edison act in this role will ensure funds disbursed by our clients for EPC contractors are used to pay performing subcontractors and suppliers in a seamless, transparent manner.
Specialty Construction and Implementation
Strategic project delivery solutions customized to meet the requirements of your project - from traditional systems to highly complex and integrated systems of energy consuming and supplying infrastructure - optimized for long-term life cycle operations.
Reduced Risk:聽We eliminate all business and technology risk associated with construction and deploying new or retrofitted energy systems.
Quality Assurance:聽At the core of every project, our team ensures performance integrity is the backbone of our process, value engineered enhanced for long term cost value, while maintaining budget and schedule.
Staff Training & Augmentation: We manage customer operational staffing training for newly installed systems, including classroom training where applicable which involves the review of all pertinent documentation, testing procedures, results of performance tests, checklists, calibration data and operation and maintenance manuals and data. Also included are operation and maintenance instructions and procedures and review of as-built documents for all systems installed. If you do not have enough staff for short-term or long-term projects, Edison can provide technically trained professionals to augment your current staffing levels.
Sector Expertise:聽Our depth and breadth of expertise extends to commercial, industrial, healthcare and higher education.
Collaboration:聽As a partner engaged with all stakeholders involved, we ensure project success and long-term, optimized value through not only the construction process, but future operations.
Market Knowledge:聽Because of our strong leadership, exceptional reputation with architects, engineers and contractors, and our ability to accurately estimate costs, we ensure quality construction at competitive pricing. This includes a refined proficiency in working with many regional and national prime contractor and subcontractor entities.
Start-to-Finish Solutions: All projects are put through a start-up and commissioning process beginning with the pre-design, design and construction phases of projects and involves customer personnel in each step as part of an overall comprehensive training program. The commissioning process with customer participation is the essence of a complete training program for a new system and takes place throughout the construction phase of projects by conducting on-going quality control inspections and Edison and customer witnessing of various pre start-up tests for the installed work.
Entrepreneurial:聽We offer the creativity and nimbleness of a small firm and the financial stability of a Fortune 500 parent company, with over 130 years of energy innovation.
